Happiness Continues with Adoptions
while Ensuring Best Practices for Safety

Keeping our companions safe and healthy, starts with keeping ourselves safe and healthy.
We would like to thank all responsible animal guardians for taking sanitary precautions in their own home and outside, practicing social distancing and stocking up on pet food and supplies.
Our medical staff and in-network fosters remain proactive to ensure the safety and health of our Animal Wellness community.
- We are sanitizing common areas multiple times throughout the day, such as handles, doorknobs, light switches, and bathrooms.
- We are providing extra pet food and supplies for all boarding and fostered animals.
- We are monitoring government resources such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the California Department of Health on a daily basis for updates and guidance.

We would also like to remind you of our ongoing commitment to a thoughtful rehoming process for all of our animals.
Below are some of our most recent happily-ever-afters.

Forever Home Feature: Rumi
Torn from home and marked as unadoptable.
Rumi is just a puppy and was removed from her home by animal control officers when her guardian passed away. It was traumatic and confusing, making her city shelter entrance and exam very memorable. She was marked with behavior issues, but Rumi is essentially just a kid. She was reacting the way any scared child might. When our rescue gave her the chance of a new start, she immediately showed her loving and vulnerable side. This is Rumi in her new home. She enjoys a lot of snuggle and playtime in her new life.
Lesson Learned: When adopting at shelters, always have discussions with staff about the relevancy and accuracy of animal behavior cards which may be outdated or better understood in context of their full story.

Aubrey
Left at shelter because of a minor imperfection.
Aubrey was given up with a limp tail to the city shelter. Her pretty face and relentless meow caught our attention and we wanted to help her immediately - especially knowing she may have had a medical issue. Luckily, there were no abnormalities on her tail or on the x-rays, she exhibits no pain or discomfort. With some medicine, her tail began moving more!
She gets lots of love in her brand new home, limp tail and all!

Feline Lesson Learned: Sometimes the imperfections are what make our furry family members even more special. Get opinions from your veterinarian about any questionable characteristics you notice in an adoptable animal before passing on them. They might be just Purrfect for you.
