RELIEF, RESCUES AND ADOPTIONS
DURING COVID-19

So much has changed since the current health pandemic hit in March. We've all been forced to change our daily routines and to practice new habits. Many have lost work and wages leaving pets homeless and starting over.

Rest assured that our Foundation and medical team at Animal Wellness Centers has not skipped a beat through the entire stay-at-home order issued March 19th 2020 in Los Angeles.
- We've processed over 40 adoptions in the 80 days of stay-at-home thus far - that equals an adoption every-other-day during stay-at-home! Despite the current restrictions, rehoming has been improved with an in-depth online application, digital interview, home-tour video and the social networking support of fosters and remote volunteers.
- We've rescued over 50 kittens and cats during the current kitten season, as a result of shelter intervention, stray pick-ups and humane trapping. Here is a handy "What-To-Do" guide when finding kittens outside from Los Angeles Animal Services and an in depth bottle feeding & baby-kitten care guide. To help end the animal overpopulation, we'll be creating a video guide to educate the community on how to humanely trap, spay, neuter and release ferals.
- We've partnered with rescuers abroad to help homeless animals in India. Our Animal Wellness Ambassadors are working to vaccinate, spay, neuter and feed homeless dogs and cats in Diu and Allahpur, who would normally have more help from the community but now suffer as a result of vendor shut-downs.

ADOPTING WITH ANIMAL WELLNESS FOUNDATION DURING COVID-19
|
|
- Adopting is the best way to save an animal. View the Adopt section of our website at https://www.animalwellnessfoundation/adopt to locate animal profiles and applications online. To expedite the adoption process, please complete the linked questionnaire using the Apply to Adopt button on each animal profile.
- Applying does not bind you to an adoption but provides our team with the information we need to match you properly with an animal. Please allow up to 3 business days for a reply.
- Remember to take some time to think about the best animal match for you and your home. Consider the size and layout of your living space, your activity level, your animal experience and others living in your home.

|
- Gifts Directly Supporting Animal Care - Donating funds toward care and medical treatment is an enormous way to help our group maintain all needed supplies, medicine and hospital treatment for our animals during COVID-19. It allows us to keep foster homes stocked with pet supplies and to follow through with critical medical appointments at our hospital so treatments and care do not cease.
- Support our COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist pet guardians in Southern California so that we can continue providing medical assistance (including vaccines, medicine, testing, and emergency surgeries) and food supply for those affected by the pandemic.
|
|
- Donating Food Unopened and non-expired dog, puppy, cat or kitten food donations are a huge help to our Los Angeles facility. You must contact us first at info@animalwellnessfoundation.org before arranging a food drop-off donation.
