RESCUE NEWSLETTER
Are you in need of some good news? Something to warm your heart?

Animals bring special gifts of love, laughter and comfort into our lives. Just like Mr. Bubbs shown here with his new mom, a first-time cat owner!

We're celebrating the many rescued and adopted animals over the last few months. Join us!
Rescued and Rehomed Featured Animals:
Roxy was found on the streets of Los Angeles at night. A Good Samaritan took her in and after no luck identifying an owner, we placed Roxy into foster care. She's been spayed, adopted and is the apple of her new mom's eyes.
Jefferson was found on the street, fearful of men and seemed rightfully insecure. With integrative practices led by Brent LaBrada of Canis Dog Training and a foster-to-adopt period supported by our team, Jeff now relaxes with the whole family - dad, sons, daughters and all!
Frankie & Olivia kittens are adored by their new human siblings, mom and Gus the doggie!
Rescued from a potentially neglectful situation this dynamic duo can now enjoy a life of safety, comfort and love.
Hannah began as a foster during covid-19 and helped get Snoopy adopted. After taking a break, she was back in action as a foster for Davey.
Davey and Hannah fell in love fast! The perfect foster-fail story for this once stray dog. Davey is teaching Hannah that parenting an animal is hard work at times, but he's totally worth it!
Congrats to over 100 more animals we've rehomed through quarantine including these kitten litters, young mothers and strays during kitten season:

Sake, Hibiki, Sapporo, Shochu, Snowflake, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Saffron, Orlando, Katie Perry, Red, Rainbow, Tiny, Turquoise, Axel, Wheelie, Azalea, Dora, Cora, George, Moxy, Thunder, Stormy, PJ, Winnie, Penny, Minnie, Virginia, Little Jimmy, Rocket, Skittles, Paige, Arielle, Chester, Sequoia, Mr. Bubbs, Betty, Sam, Max...

Plus these incredible doggies: Charlie, Harry, Sally, Lady, Jake, Blake, Finn, Buddy, Mavis, Leonardo, Luigi, Gwen, Leo, Hanson, Landon, Freddie, Snoopy, Kitty...

and more..

COCO - Siamese Mix - 14 yrs

This amazing, beautiful siamese girl is extremely loving and low maintenance. She is great for someone who wants a loving companion to hang out with. She was almost euthanized and suffered a respiratory infection that wasn’t being treated properly. She is doing great now. She enjoys cuddles and is so appreciative of your love. She’s fine with calm dogs who give her space. She’s on a wet food only diet because most of her teeth have been extracted. She needs a calm, sunny home ASAP as her foster situation is ending. Her ideal guardian will enjoy giving her company and affection often.

Adopt Coco - The Siamese Rescue Cat
Atticus & Spike have lived with people since they were kittens. They are extremely affectionate and super easy to hang with. Unfortunately, their owner had to let them go. They've been in foster care since but they need to be moved ASAP due to travel plans.
Please open your home to these boys who are great for first time cat owners - already socialized, low maintenance and friendly. Also great for anyone seeking loving companions!

DONATE
  • Gifts Directly Supporting Animal Care - Donating funds toward care and medical treatment is an enormous way to help our group maintain all needed supplies, medicine and hospital treatment for our animals during COVID-19. It allows us to keep foster homes stocked with pet supplies and to follow through with critical medical appointments at our hospital so treatments and care do not cease.

  • Support our COVID-19 Relief Fund to assist pet guardians in Southern California so that we can continue providing medical assistance (including vaccines, medicine, testing, and emergency surgeries) and food supply for those affected by the pandemic.
FOSTER
Give a homeless animal a safe and comfortable place to live while promoting their adoption, reducing your own stress and adding joy into your home.

Fosters are supplied with food, medicine, harness and leash. Other supplies can be shipped. Donations of toys, treats, bowls and bedding are encouraged if fosters are able.

Become a foster for Animal Wellness Foundation:
  1. Complete one of the questionnaires listed below and answer the questions as if you were adopting.
  2. Type the words "Foster Application" in the Animal Name Field at the top of your application.
  3. You will be contacted for next steps.
  4. Your information will be stored into our database and we will reach out as soon as we can to match you with an animal!
HELPING HUNTER!
Hunter was recently returned for some behavior issues with people. He was always loving and loyal to his owner. We're seeking a dog experienced, confident guardian or foster to work with him, provide structure, respect his boundaries and give him good exercise. He's approaching 4 years old. He's good with dogs. Ideal home is calm, has yard, no small kids, athletic guardian to walk / jog frequently with.

Our Adoption Process

Our adoption process was designed to help ensure that we select the best homes for our animals and includes a questionnaire, meeting and home visit. We take special care to match the right home with the right pet, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter.

We cannot stress enough what a huge difference our volunteers make toward the well being of our rescues. Animal Wellness Foundation.org is helping animals through veterinary care, rescue and adoptions. You can help by volunteering and by becoming a sustaining donor.

The Animal Wellness Foundation (Foundation) is a Los Angeles-based private charitable organization with a mission of helping animals by making veterinary care available to everyone with a pet, regardless of economic ability. We organize rescue efforts and medical services for dogs and cats in need and help homeless pets find a loving caregiver. We are advocates for getting veterinarians to the front lines of the animal welfare movement; promoting responsible pet ownership; and vaccinating animals against infectious diseases such as distemper. We also support policies that prevent animal cruelty and that alleviate suffering. We believe helping animals helps us all.
